Germany - RhineLand & Moselle Valleys

Geography & Perf/Arts

The Rhine valley with its sweeping vineyards, half-timbered houses and imposing castles conjures up the classic images of Germany. Source of the Rhinegold legends, this is the home of Siegfried the dragon-slayer and the beautiful Lorelei, who lured sailors to their deaths. Set against this legendary background, the Rhine valley offers visitors an enormous variety of excursions. The neighbouring Moselle Valley reflects the more tranquil lifestyle of this fairytale confluent of the Rhine. Many picturesque towns such as Bernkastel-Kues, Traben-Trarbach and Cochem are strung along the river and nestle amongst the vineyards.
