This majestic, imperial spa town sits in the high Gastein valley. The buildings of this bustling tourist centre tell the story of pre-war grandeur that has been so well preserved. The town itself is very pretty, whilst having an upmarket image with a host of shops sporting the major designer labels. The skiing too is impressive. The resort forms part of the exciting “Skiverbund Amadé” region which gives Club Europe skiers access to over 860km of pistes on the one lift pass. Although you will never get to see all the areas using your coach to visit new areas with your instructors is certainly recommended.

The skiing

Considering that you have access to over 860km of runs, there is no doubt that you will find something for every level of skier. The local ski school is superb and will no doubt concentrate the majority of the group’s tuition in the Bad Gastein valley. These lifts alone offer 200km of skiing, at an altitude of up to 2700m, therefore guaranteeing excellent snow conditions. The Stübner Kogel or Graukogel offer great intermediate and advanced skiing, whilst the beginners can start their week from the town and move up the valley during the week.

Après ski

Bad Gastein has fin-de-siècle charm unlike any other resort we offer. The majestic buildings and opulent facades offer a great backdrop for a wander around this lively tourist town. As your centre is walking distance to many attractions, you may only need to use the coach to visit Salzburg or other ski areas.

Bad Gastein Youth Hostel This comfortable youth centre is in an excellent location; about 300m from the Stübner Kogel gondola and a short walk from the town centre (easy access to après ski). The bedroom are 2-4 bedded and all have private bathrooms (with toilet and shower). It has large dining rooms and cosy lounges. Facilities include a fitness and gymnastics room, a sauna and table tennis.
