This World Cup Ski region has become Club Europe’s most sought after ski area due to its fantastic all round appeal. The 6 valleys of the Sport Welt encompass an amazing 865km of pistes with 276 lifts to choose from. We have the largest selection of accommodation of any schools operator in this region spread across the valleys and use the local ski schools of each resort for the best results.

The skiing

It’s a great destination for a coach tour. On consultation with your ski instructors you can arrange for your coach to take you to a different entry point every day. You can be based in one of 4 villages, with some centres offering you the opportunity to ski right from your door. Flachau is replacing the Star Jet 3 lift with an 8 seated heated and covered chair lift and Zauchensee has a new 8 man gondola and the old 3 seated chair is to be replaced with a 6 seated. All in all, this offers a great mixture of sport, action, après-ski, and hospitality.

Après ski

Each village offers a unique night time atmosphere and is well served with bars, cafés and restaurants. There are also several discos in the area. Altenmarkt and Schladming offer swimming, whilst bowling can be found in Schladming and St. Johann.

Outdoor activities include curling, skating and flood-lit skiing in Flachau. The regional capital, Salzburg, one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, is within an hours drive for an evening excursion with a difference or a fantastic day trip!

Due to fantastic late snow and the propensity of snow cannons we have selected a few houses from Wagrain and Altenmarkt to spear head our Easter skiing campaign. Skiing from Radstadt & Altenmarkt

Groups will begin the week on the Radstadt/ Altenmarkt Mountain where our Ski School is based. The gentle, wide blue slopes are a perfect confidence builder and by midweek you will be tasting the high altitude majesty of Zauchensee which offers some of the most breathtaking views in Austria. The more adventurous may ski 1 day in Filzmoos or even Flachau, all a short coach ride from your accommodation.

Jugendgästehaus Tauernruh

Capacity 200 CE Rating**

This 300-year old house is located in the centre of Radstadt, about 3km from the lifts. The family-run atmosphere and facilities are ideally suited to younger groups and so we recommend this for under 15s. The house offers 4, 6 & some 8-bedded rooms with private showers. There are ample WCs on each floor. Leaders’ rooms are twin bedded with private facilities. The house offers a wealth of entertainments such as a pizza amphitheatre, disco room complete with smoke machine, indoor gym for basketball & football, pool and internet room. There is a sauna, solarium and mini gym available to leaders, as well as a bar.

Jugendgästeparadies Bachlehen

Capacity 120 CE Rating****

As the Bachlehen is situated adjacent to the nursery area and main gondola entering the Radstadt-Altenmarkt ski complex you can ski virtually from the door. With a swimming pool, sauna, gym, games room, sports hall, disco, seminar rooms and doorstep skiing, this popular centre scores highly. Spacious rooms are 4-6 bedded and all have private facilities.

Jugendferienhof Besenhaus

Capacity 58 CE Rating**

This house is on the outskirts of Altenmarkt, about 500m from the village centre, and about 10 minutes drive from both Flachau and Radstadt. The Scheucher family do their utmost to ensure that groups have a first rate holiday. This house has a games/disco room with TV and video, and a tuck shop. It is perfect for sole occupancy. Student rooms are 4/6/8-bedded. Leaders have twins and most rooms come with private showers and toilet. The novice skiing area is about 5 minutes drive away.

Jugendherberge Sportheim

Located on the outskirts of Altenmarkt next to a firm Club Europe favourite, the Besenhaus, this gem of a house has become much soughtafter by Club Europe groups. The owner, Manuela, offers an especially warm welcome and a high standard of food that English groups have come to expect from Austrian hosts. All student rooms are spacious and are 6 bedded with bunks and private facilities. Leaders’ rooms are twinbedded with private facilities. The house boasts a large sports hall, disco room, leaders room and a games/TV room. The slopes are about a 5 minute coach journey away on the other side of the village.

Jugendhotel Hutter

An excellent addition to our programme this very modern family-run hotel is situated in the Hamlet of Hüttau approximately a 20 minute drive from Radstadt but also close to the Flachau valleys. The spacious 4 to 6-bedded student rooms all offer private facilities, some with balconies. Leaders rooms are twin bedded with private facilities. There are several dining rooms to enable a feeling of sole occupancy, a film room in the annex, several recreational rooms ideal for a disco & leaders stüberl with bar.

Skiing from Flachau

Groups that stay in Flachau will ski from the Space jet lifts in Flachau that are only a 300m walk from the Hanneshof. This World Cup resort is home to Austria’s most celebrated skier Hermann Maier and he can be seen training on the slopes regularly. Our ski school is based in Flachau and will ensure your group conquers the 100km of interconnected skiing that can take you over to Wagrain and back in one day. The slopes are wide and ideal for cruising and gaining confidence.

Jugendgästehaus Auhof

Located in the centre of Flachau, the Jugendgästehaus Auhof is a family run centre built for youth groups. Children can be accommodated in 2-5 bedded rooms, whilst group leaders will be accommodated in en-suite twin rooms. There are ample toilet and shower facilities on each floor. There are 2 spacious dining areas, a games room complete with Satellite TV and DVD facilities, table football and table tennis and a cosy internet room. There is a separate room where leaders can relax. You can hire sledges from the centre and winter parties can be organised upon request. The nearest ski lifts can be found 1.5km from the centre and a shuttle bus service is conveniently located 200m away for quick access to the slopes.

Jugendgästehaus Hanneshof

These 2 houses located next to each other are in a superb location only a 300m walk to the Flachau slopes and a short drive to the village of Reitdorf. Each house offers self-contained units so each of our Club Europe groups will enjoy relative autonomy and their own dining room. They also offer the superb all inclusive soft drinks package as part of the price – saving students valuable euro’s throughout their stay. Student rooms are of a high standard mainly 6-bedded all with en suite facilities. Leaders are offered twin rooms. Excellent in-house facilities include a large sports hall ideal for football or basketball, plus there are 2 indoor tennis courts, a disco room and TV/games room. They also offer in-house ski hire for all our groups.

Skiing from Wagrain

This bustling resort now boasts 5 Club Europe houses all of an excellent standard. We use the Wagrain Ski School who will choose one of 3 entry points for your group depending on the house you are staying at and the ability of your skiers. The Flying Mozart and Grafenberg Lifts are popular as they have superb beginner’s slopes as well as a quick uplift onto the upper slopes for progression. Wagrain also has a new gondola on the Graffenberg. This will run parallel to the existing lift and alleviate queuing during high season. Most groups will ski into Flachau or Kleinarl during their week for some variety and to get kilometres under the skis.

Alois and his team continue to improve this already excellent Club Europe gem. There is a fantastic new indoor sports hall that offers a wealth of sports activities. There is also an adjoining “MTV” lounge with plasma screen and an indoor climbing wall! This is in addition to the all inclusive soft drinks that come included with your stay, new dining room with buffet counter, interactive state-of-theart disco room, sauna & bar area. The rooms are spacious and 4-6 bedded all with en suite facilities. The leaders are offered twin rooms, all with Wifi connectivity. Thanks to substantial investment by the Riepler family, this house has become an excellent centre. The standards of catering and accommodation are high. All rooms (4/6 bedded with two 8 bedded) have private showers and toilets. Leaders’ rooms are twins. It is only about 1km from the centre of Wagrain. The house has a sauna and solarium for leaders (small charge). It has extensive in-house facilities, which include a sports hall (30m x 20m) suitable for a host of ball games. The nursery slope and the beginners’ lift are right in front of the house, offering doorstep skiing. The ‘Flying Mozart’ high-speed gondola is only a short walk away.

Jugendhotel Wiederkehr

This first class family run house has been totally refurbished to a very high standard. Positioned just 2 minutes walk from te Flying Mozart lift and just 500m from the town centre it is perfectly situated. All rooms have private facilities and there is indoor table tennis and an entertainment room to keep everyone occupied after a days skiing. For the more energetic Wagrain’s new sports hall for football, volleyball or tennis is available free of charge and the Wasserwelt swimming centre is just 100m away.

Jugendhotel Oberwimm

The unbeatable location of this Club Europe favourite makes this a truly first come first served house. It is at the foot of the Flying Mozart Gondola adjacent to the town of Wagrain and is literally doorstep! It is cleverly divided into 2 main sections giving 2 groups autonomy and assisting with supervision. The Oberwimm now has a new IT lounge to relax in after a hard day out on the slopes. The rooms are spacious 4-8 bedded with en suite. Twin rooms are offered to leaders and boast Wifi connectivity. The house has a large disco and entertainment room as well as a separate building within walking distance that has a fully functional disco and mini cinema. Pizza evenings are also possible in the family-owned Pizzeria across the road.

Jugendgästehaus Striedlhof

Capacity 70 CE Rating***

The Striedlhof is owned by the same family as the Oberwimm and lies in a quiet location 1.5km up from the town of Wagrain and offers a good standard of accommodation. All rooms, which are 5-8 bedded, have private bathroom, while other facilities include sauna, TV room and table tennis room. The house offers a free ski bus to and from the town daily at regular intervals. Guests are also free to use the Oberwimm’s disco and mini cinema, located in the centre of Wagrain.
