Les Contamines is a beautiful Savoyard village, nestling in a tree-lined and secluded valley, in the shadow of Mont Blanc. It is undoubtedly our most popular resort in France, due to the high standard of accommodation and excellent snow record, while the local people are very friendly and hospitable. This charming village offers a variety of evening entertainment activities. All in all this is a resort that deserves its status as Club Europe’s favourite French destination!
The skiing
Essentially an intermediate skiing area, the terrain does, however, offer ample scope for all grades of skier. Excellent teaching areas are located on the Etape at 1470m and at 1900m on the Signal area, thus ensuring good snow conditions for beginners. The modern lift system with its 8-person gondola whisks you up from the village to Etape and from here there is a selection of chairlifts servicing the higher slopes. The ski school meets the group at Etape, from which they take our groups to suitable areas of the mountain.
Après ski
Les Contamines offers a variety of traditional evening entertainments. It has a selection of cosy crêperies and several bars with live music. There are also many other attractions to choose from.

L’Avenière

This attractive chalet-style centre is in a
quiet location about 300 m from the cable
car and about 2 km from the town centre.
The accommodation is a mixture of twin
and 3-bedded rooms with private shower
and toilet and “suites” comprising two
3-bedded rooms separated by a shared
bathroom. There is a games room with
TV/video, staff room, large dining room,
classroom for meetings, spacious lounge
with bar and disco and a ski storage room.

superb centre enjoys the same ownership
and management as the L’Aveniere centre.
