Ski Tours to Italy - Folgarida-Marilleva

This is a popular destination in the Val di Sole, and deservedly so. The mountains of the Brenta Dolomites are sunny, snowy and spectacular, but not at all intimidating. The skiing (up to 2179m) is varied and served by an efficient, modern lift system. The resort suits the needs of beginners and intermediates very well and the ski school is excellent.

The skiing

The linked resorts of Folgarida and Marilleva offer about 80km of well-groomed pistes, in snow bowls and boulevards, served by 25 lifts. The village of Marilleva is where the lifts start, getting you up to Marilleva 1400 and the pistes. The nursery slopes are gentle and the ski school personnel very professional. Generally, the Marilleva ski area is best for beginners, Folgarida for intermediates and the progression between the two is smooth. Expert skiers will enjoy the many long red pistes offering good fast “boulevard” skiing and there are four good black runs, two of which are about 1850m long. A new 8-seater gondola, situated just 3km away in Daolasa- Valmastellina, now enables skiers to reach over 2000m and then choose whether to ski in Folgarida or Marilleva.

Après ski

The Val di Sole has lively and varied après ski. We can plan a fun programme for your group, full of traditional snow-based activities including torch-lit descents, snowshoe walking and ice-skating. Swimming and bowling evenings can also be organised as well as karaoke and discos.

It offers excellent quality accommodation together with fantastic home cooked food; it has its own wood-fired pizzeria open to the public, so you are guaranteed a real authentic taste of Italy. Student rooms are 3 to 4-bedded all with private facilities. Leaders have spacious twin rooms. This hotel is ideal for a group wanting sole occupancy. Facilities include a TV room and ski storage, while the lifts of Folgarida are 10 minutes away by coach.

First established in 1922 and entirely refurbished in 1998, this 3 star hotel in Dimaro is owned by the friendly Carnessalini family. This hotel is in a quiet spot, about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Dimaro and under 5 minutes walk from the village supermarket and bowling alley. The lifts at Marilleva 900 are about 15 minutes by coach. The hotel has comfortable 4/5-bedded rooms for students, all with shower and toilet, hairdryer, and TV. There’s a tuck shop, a disco/tavern, and the lounge has cable TV/video. Leaders can use the very well-equipped fitness room which includes hydro-massagers, sauna and solarium (pay locally).
