'Seoul was great as a destination, and felt very safe and clean'

A concert band from a school in China have had an amazing music tour to South Korea.

They performed three concerts, one beside the famous Han-River near the Bang-Po Bridge and took part in a workshop in Jangku, a traditional Korean percussion instrument.

Here’s what their music leader Peter had to say about their experience:

“Seoul was great as a destination, and felt very safe and clean.

“Both Alahree and Isabel have been great to liaise with. They have kept me up-to-date with any changes or problems, and been happy to oblige any of my niggling concerns and help with general issues that arose throughout the course of planning this trip. The speed that they were able to reply to my emails was GREATLY appreciated!

“Our concert at Holt School was to a special needs audience and this made it a success for both the performers and the audience. The highlight being the response from the audience as both the principal and tour guide told us that these students would never get the chance to see live music as they may not be allowed into concert venues. Also, some of the performers commented on how different members of the audience responded differently to different pieces.

“Should we come back to Korea, I would love to return with an ensemble.

“Our tour manager, Sunny, was AMAZING! She was very easy to talk with, and quite flexible as required. She was able to let us know times to meet and translated at the Holt School concert as our MC and also when talking with the bus driver.

“Her relaxed but firm demeanour and easy going attitude meant that our tour was enjoyable for both the students AND teachers involved.

“It meant that there was someone specifically dedicated to the itinerary for the tour, meaning teachers could focus on the conduct and musical experiences for the students

“Club Europe took the stress out of organizing our school music tour. Thank you and I hope we can continue working together in the future!”
