This month saw the first World Duchenne Awareness Day.

Club Europe was one of the sponsors of the Tri4Duchenne triathlon in the summer, which has raised an amazing £325K to support research into this debilitating disease.

The Awareness Day was organised by parents of four year old Jamie Latham, a Duchenne sufferer. “So far the money we raised has funded two new and exciting research projects,” said Alex, Jamie’s father. “We are optimistic that their research will help find a treatment for this horrific condition in time to save our son’s life and other boys like him.

“Thanks to you, we are part of a global army, fighting every day to defeat Duchenne. We’re co-funding three clinical trials and thirteen other research projects. And we’re working tirelessly with clinicians, regulators and scientists to bring meaningful change for this generation of boys.”

Club Europe are organising next year’s ski trip for students from Jamie’s school, the Thomas London Day School. They will be skiing in Radstadt in Austria.
